HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY
We the Director(s) (CEO) of Novelplast Teoranta Ltd., understand that we have both moral and legal duties to ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, the safety, health and welfare of employees at work, and that others affected by our undertaking (customers, contractors, including those contracted to another employer, visitors, etc) are not exposed to risk to their safety, health and welfare.
We are committed to:
· Preventing and / or reducing injury and ill health to anyone who may be affected by our activities;
· Complying with legal, customer and other interested party requirements;
· Continually improving risk management and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) performance;
· Promoting a positive safety culture;
Central to these commitments are the:
· Implementation and maintenance of our OH&S management system;
· Systematic identification of hazards and, so far as reasonably practicable, their elimination and reduction of risks to an acceptable level;
· Implementation and maintenance of OH&S objectives and a programme(s) of achieving same;
· Definition of management and other employee responsibilities relating to OH&S;
· Communication and consultation as appropriate on OH&S matters (incl hazard identification and risk assessment, competence requirements etc) with our employees and other interested parties (person(s) affected by or who may affect our management system);
· Provision of appropriate training and any necessary PPE to employees.
We ask each employee to:
· Report OH&S incidents (accidents, incidents and near misses);
· Report any actual or perceived needs and expectations of an interested party (customer, contractor, suppliers, subcontractors, an Authority, emergency services, visitor, general public, other);
· Make suggestions as to how Novelplast may fulfil its legal duties and other requirements to which the company subscribes;
· Make submissions as regards OH&S risks and opportunities, objectives and planning to achieve them, and what needs to be monitored, audited, measured and evaluated;
· Comment to any member of management at any time regarding the continuing suitability and effectiveness of this policy.
Submissions relating to these and any other matters may be made directly to a Director (CEO), manager, supervisor, member of the H&S department, or your Safety Representative.
Safety is every employee’s responsibility, and the success of our Safety Management System depends on everyone’s co-operation and compliance to the system.
